You’re invited to join neighbors for a casual dinner and a fun, musical evening – a concert – with several musician neighbors putting their guitars, violins and electronic keyboards to work to benefit Dreamhill Estates’ new building drive. Paul and Tessie Villarreal will host the event at their home at 6915 Dorothy Louise, and Paul will also play guitar.
Ellen Remenchik and her husband Kevin McCormick, who moved into Dreamhill Estates last fall, dreamed up the idea, and their brother-in-law Steve McLaughlin will play solo and with them. John Tennison, a neighbor too, will also perform.
The event – on Saturday, August 27 at 7 p.m., concert at 7:30 – will include free wine and beer, and have a suggested donation of $25-30 per person (or more, if you like!) to benefit the new building. Water, cokes, tea and ice will be available, and you are welcome to bring other drinks that you prefer.
We’re hoping everyone will have fun with it, and help the building fund in the process. We need RSVPs to plan the heavy hors d’oeuvres and desserts, so please fill out the form below and let us know you’ll be there.
To round off the evening, neighbor Greg Gonzales will again be our auctioneer to help us auction off 18 bottles of premier Becker Vineyard wines, and some other prizes toward the end of the evening to raise additional funds. It’s a not-to-miss event!
- More about the musicians:
- A lifelong musician, Ellen has played at Renaissance festivals and the Kerrville Music Festival. Solo, Ellen will play Irish and classical music on violin and Kevin will back her up on classical guitar. Kevin will also play solo numbers from Spanish composers, such as Fernando Sor.
- Acoustic folk guitarist and singer/songwriter, Steve will play oldies but goodies from the 1970s, as well as some original work.
- John Tennison’s style ranges from Boogie Woogie to bluegrass and the classical music of India. His high-energy Booogie Woogie grooves, intense percussive style is influenced by African, Arabic and Samba drumming. More about John Tennison at www.nonjohn.com
- Paul Villarreal will also play ballads and gospel music on his acoustic guitar.
Please come, and feel free to invite friends outside Dreamhill Estates to what promises to be a special evening to benefit the new Community Center!
