Saturday, March 18 at 9:30 a.m
Calvin Finch will do another spring gardening talk for neighbors and friends on Saturday, March 18, at 9:30 a.m. on the DEERC property at 6800 Dorothy Louise Drive.
He’ll also have a giveaway plant for all attendees, hopefully a Rodeo tomato transplant. So, it’s clearly time to plant tomatoes and other warm-weather vegetables. Plus we can also plant zinnias (which attracted an astounding number of Monarch butterflies last fall!) and other summer-color plants.

If you are not familiar with the location, read the directions below. It can be tricky to find the first time.
The DEERC (Dreamhill Estates Education Resource Center) is located at 6800 Dorothy Louise Drive. Note that google maps places this address at the intersection of West Beverly Mae and Dorothy Louise. From that intersection you will see a gravel driveway between two houses. That driveway leads to the DEERC Property.
Directions from Loop 410
Take exit 14B from Loop 410 onto Babcock Road. Travel approximately 1.2 miles northeast (outside Loop 410). Turn left onto Dorothy Louise Drive. Stay on Dorothy Louise Drive as it curves around to connect with West Beverly Mae. Right before you get to West Beverly Mae, you will see a gravel driveway between two houses on your right. The driveway leads to the DEERC Property. We recommend that you park on the street and walk up the driveway to the property. There is limited space for parking and we will want most of the open space on the property to be available so we can spread out with our furry friends.
Directions from Babcock and Wurzbach
Travel on southwest Babcock (toward Loop 410). Take your first right onto West Beverly Mae. Stay on West Beverly Mae until you get to a fork in the road at Dorothy Louise Drive (3rd Left). From that intersection you will see a gravel driveway between two houses on your left. The driveway leads to the DEERC Property. We recommend that you park on the street and walk up the driveway to the property. There is limited space for parking and we will want most of the open space on the property to be available so we can spread out with our furry friends.
